MERINOH! SUPER SPORT: Approximately 100g/274 yards superwash Merino wool.

These were kettle-dyed a very bright yellow-green then glazed inconsistently with a warm chestnut brown. They are variegated and each hank is unique, even from the same batch. Note that the picture is of a different base. The colour reminds me of a Bosc pear - it’s nuanced and difficult to photograph.

This is a difficult yarn to categorise in terms of weight: its yardage is in line with a heavy sport but it knits up like DK. Its construction is multi-plied; four strands of two plies each, resulting in a round, lofty, smooshy soft yarn. The multiple plies assist with keeping pilling to a minimum as well as increase durability. There is a slight nubbly texture to the strand. This would be an excellent base for winter accessories, shawls, sweaters and baby garments - it's sure to be durable and cozy, plus it's very soft.

While this is superwash, I recommend hand washing and drying flat to maintain optimum colour and texture.
